Sad state of affairs in Malaysian politics

Watching the following video just depresses me. Our politicians suck. Parliament meetings look more like chinese triads discussing sums (kheng sou) than intellectual debates. I think that you'll find more civilised discussions in secondary schools than among our parliamentarians. If you're Malaysian or you're interested in the sad state of affairs in Malaysian politics, just watch.

Our opposition leader tries to do his job. However, his weak command of the national language makes him look half retarded. The minister from the little kampung shouts about too much. Then, no one else seems to defend our opposition leader except for the nice old lady from BM.

Maybe, it would be a good idea to have public broadcasts of all our parliamentary meetings. As citizens in a democracy, it is our fundamental right to hold the politicians (who actually work for us) accountable for their actions. Personally, I kind of like to watch BBC Parliament, where they broadcast the British parliament sittings. This way, you can also see which MPs are schiving off work.

We really need to get rid of all the politicians from parliament. They just don't seem to be up for the job. Come the next GE, we should all just vote independent. That would throw our country into disarray. But that's no worse than what we already have at the moment. So, sad.

the problem with broadcasting malaysian parliamentary debates is that the majority of the malaysian public would really much rather watch half witted soap operas.

Transparency is good.

Even if the majority of people don't watch it, there will still be an odd person picking out the stupid things that the politicians do in parliament and post it on Youtube.

That provides ammo for their enemy.

It's also good to see which MPs ponteng parliament and which ones are doing their job.
