Depression
Depression. I hate the feeling. It comes out of nowhere and hits full force when least expected. When I should actually be happy, I find myself feeling the exact opposite. From wikipedia, clinical depression exhibits the following symptoms and signs:
- Persistent sad, anxious, or empty mood
- Loss of appetite
- Insomnia, early-morning awakening, or oversleeping
- Restlessness or irritability
- Feelings of worthlessness, inappropriate guilt, helplessness
- Feelings of hopelessness, pessimism
- Difficulty thinking, concentrating, remembering, or making decisions
- Thoughts of death or suicide or attempts at suicide
- Loss of interest or pleasure in hobbies and activities that were once enjoyed
- Decreased energy
- Persistent physical symptoms that do not respond to treatment, such as digestive disorders
EDIT@1500: Decided to sleep it off. Got up at 9am and lay in bed, doing nothing, until almost noon. Taking it easy. d:
UPDATE+1: I'm fine already. Sleeping in did me a world of good. This is still the top post because there's nothing else to blog about at the moment. Hopefully, I'll have other things to write about soon.

hey man.. i can't claim to know what you're going through, but remember, if you need it, you have friends who will gladly help you, even to help you seek more expert help.
Cheer up man. Think of what is most important to you at the moment. A doctor friend of mine once said, as time goes by, depression hits you at the same magnitude, but with a shorter duration each time. So, think of it in terms of a narrower binary graph against time instead of a gradually decreasing one ;) So, it does get better as time passes. Hope this helps ;) Else u cna come and visit me in Nottingham
yar, speaking of which, when are you and your gf gonna come visit me at cambridge??
Hey man!
Sounds like we need to catch up. It's the season you know... didn't have a very cheerful week myself.
Some anti-dotes: sunlight, walking/running, good food :)
Good thing: sunlight and walking go well together this weekend (just got back). Good food -> Jin Ling (Irene helped me discover the place) :)
Besides, I was thinking of a cook-in or so next weekend. Email to be arriving soon...
YC
JinLing != GoodFood; You wanna know where the good food is, you need to ask a Malaysian.. We live for food!!
I've found 2 better places..
(1) Shanghai Family Restaurant on Burleigh St.
(2) J's Restaurant on Regent St. (advertised as non-MSG food)
But yes, we really need to meet up. Let's do so sometime soon. I await your email.
Chill man.
Always look on the bright side.
