More than Meets the Eye

Interesting movie to look forward to in summer. This movie has been hyped up so much that I'm hoping that it won't disappoint. From the most recent trailer, it does seem like it's decent. It'll be one of the movies that I'll go watch in the cinema during summer. I sure hope that it doesn't get delayed in the UK.

Some people don't like the new look of the Transformers. Many people think that they are too spindly. Personally, I had at first thought that they looked quite ugly. But after thinking about it, I realised that it was only logical for Michael Bay to make them look like this. Simply put, most of the Transformer fans are already in/around 30s. Cartoon looking Transformers would not appeal to this crowd. As for the kids of today, this is something new anyway, and they wouldn't really have much of a preconception of how Transformers looked like in the 80s.

So, it does make perfect logical sense to make the Transformers look like this. It also gives them the excuse fo making the robots giant sized while keeping their transformed state realistic. The trailer doesn't reveal if any of the Transformers talked or not. Although I don't really like the idea of chatty robots, I would love to hear them utter a few words. Maybe get Optimus to say something cool at the end of the movie. I wonder how'd they intend to bring out the cuteness of BumbleBee and the cunning of StarScream in the movie. I hope that they don't turn the Transformers into nothing but a bunch of ball busting robots. They were much more than that to all the fans. They had character and were quite literally, the only watchable cartoon from the US.

I loved the line from the trailer: "It's a robot, like a super advanced robot. It's probably Japanese."
