Had dinner with Lisa today
had dinner with lisa, yiannee and jo today... had a wonderful time... we were the very last customers to leave teriyaki... hehe... they kept trying to chase us out by taking away stuff from our tables... and dropping the bill on
our laps... but anyway...
it's always nice to hear lisa share her experiences... although i've also got a wee bit of experience in the world, lisa has quite different experiences from mine.. so, it's always nice to listen to her stories... now that she's married and finished her PhD, it's the kind of experience that i certainly do not have yet...
however, there was one thing that she said, which i do not believe in... she said that the only constant in this world is "love"... well... as much as i'd like to believe that is true, i don't... part of it comes from religion... part of it comes from experience...
the religion bit tells me that nothing in this world is permanent... nothing... except for death.. i know it sounds morbid... but it's quite true... love is something "unreal" in a sense.. so, if it's unreal, then how could it be permanent..
as for experience, going through a long relationship, it's inevitable that love grows and wanes... there are times when it's strong, and there are times when it's weak.. it's up and down... and even when it's up, it can still hurt... so, it's certainly not permanent.. and when it's weak, it can most certainly break...
so, no... nothing is permanent... not even love...

i disagree. stupidity will always be around.
The impermanence here doesnt mean there is always stupidity, or evil, or conflict. It means there is no constant in things. Lets take stupidity as an example, there is no constant degree of stupidity. Sometimes you are more stupid than your comment. Haha! Joking. I don't really agree by saying death is permanent, but rather death is certain. Permanent refers to unchanged from moment to moment ( I refuse to use time because it does not really exist too).
