Tonite's dinner!
Huhu, got a pretty good dinner tonite courtesy of Irene and LayPing! Mexican food! Huhu. Was a bit of a havoc initially cause of communication problems. I was on drinks duty this week for BA. So, I left my room at 6.30 to go man the bar. I'm quite good with mixing drinks now. So, I didn't get the latest communique about the venue.
The last communique that I got was to go to LayPing's room at Sidney. But since I've never been to her room before, I had no idea how to get there. But no problem. When food is involved, I'll let my nose lead the way. So, I served various drinks for an hour. We ran out of gin & tonic really quickly as usual. People hated the dry sherry and we had good white wine courtesy of our tutor.
So, after drinks, I went over to Sidney's. Then, I started calling up Irene on her mobile. I must've called like 30 times but nobody picked up. So, I asked the porter where LayPing lived and he told me exactly where she lived. He even gave me the code number to enter her building! Friendly porter. The instructions were pretty convoluted but I followed my nose to the place.
I got in and couldn't find LayPing. So, I knocked on the neighbour to ask if he/she knew where she was. And I stumbled into a CG group having a cookout and a b'day celebration! So, I hanged there for a while. The group was mainly made up of Sporeans, HongKongers, BBC and Malaysians. So, I knew a few people there. Took a few pictures.
Then, I asked them if they had LayPing's number. I got it and called her like 10 times. Still no one picked up. Then, suddenly my phone rang. Irene had called me to tell me that they'd changed the venue to her place instead. So, I left the party to join them at her place. Huhu. I had to travel quite a bit for my dinner tonite. Luckily I managed to get Heffs to cover me for the post-dinner drinks. Else, sure die.
The dinner itself was good. Food was excellent. Company was fun. We chatted about random stuff as usual. The conversation went from informational to downrite weird stuff including discussions on how they executed people in ancient China. These things happened after dinner of course!
