RM 23.5 million for 1 school
Wow. This must be *the* example of proper allocation of education funds from RM9. When I read about this, the only thing that went through my head was, 'damn lucky this school'. While almost every other school is struggling to provide a good education with a limited budget, this single school has suddenly got a windfall. And the only reason for this windfall is because our dear PM suddenly got nostalgic and wanted to do something for his school.
I'm not really sure if this is a good way to spend RM 23 million of the education budget for RM9. There are still plenty of rural schools in Malaysia without basic amenities that try to make do. There are also plenty of urban schools that are in various states of disrepair and would benefit from any budget injection. The money could also go a long way in supplying text books and food for the various schemes for the poor. It could also be used to fund a lot of students with scholarships to pursue a higher education in Malaysia.
And how about MY secondary school, Kajang High School. Granted, it has not produced any PM before, but it has produced it's fair share of successful politicians, corporate leaders and academics. Plus, it's certainly older than HSBM and so, is more of a heritage than that school. Most importantly, it's produced ME! Hmm, some may say, in that case, *I* should donate money back to my school later, and I totally agree. So, our PM should donate *his* own money back to the school and not the rakyat's money. But then, he's the PM and I'm not. So, I'd better keep quiet.
And from what I've recently read about KHS, it seems to have been overrun by some religious zealots. So, dunno how. Forget it lar. Go back to work. Need to be in CUED in about 30 mins anyway.

hell. you can build and staff about 30 - 50 rural schools with that. why do they need that amount of money anyway?
