Chamonix Day #2

On the second day, we didn't have much to do either. The ski introduction only started at 2pm. So, we decided to take a morning walk to Chamonix. Seeing that we were each supplied with a travel pass (useful for all trains/busses in Chamonix), we decided to take the local bus instead after a while. It was fairly difficult trying to walk on ice, even with my new boots. Snow was okay though.

Later that afternoon, we had our first introduction to skiing. All the "debutants" were brought out to the baby slopes. These were little patches of snowy ground that were actually practically flat. We were told how to wear our boots, put on our skis, and walk on snow. It wasn't too difficult and it got so warm that most of us took off our jackets.

In the evening (and indeed for most evenings), we spent our time in our favourite hangout place - the PS room. Most of the guys ended up playing a lot of PS2. Even ShuangNing played a bit of GT4. The chairs there were comfy and we could just hang out there, tokkok and then go back to our rooms to sleep. The UCPA is extremely well designed to take care of us.
