Air Asia X!!
Although the name is kind of cheesy, the deal isn't! It's great that AAX is starting flights between London-KL from RM9.99! My goodness. This is way cheaper than Oasis. So, AAX may just end up being the main long haul budget carier by combining Air Asia short range operations with it. That's something that Oasis does NOT have.
Passengers from all over Asia can now take a cheapo AirAsia flight to KLCCT, and then transit over to AAX for a long haul flight to some distant European/other destination. Wow! I cannot wait for the airline to start operations. I will be the first to purchase a ticket back home. Flying home may actually be something affordable now. Heck, I can even fly off to China (for a holiday) like this.
Although no in-flight entertainment or food will be provided, it's of no problem to me. All I care about is the flight. I can provide my own in-flight entertainment (reading). And when I'm not doing that, I can sleep. As for food, I could always pack my own meals. A sandwich can go a long way. I don't really make use of the normal airline's in flight facilities anyway.
This Tony Fernandes should really be given a Dato-ship considering that he's running the ONLY profitable airline in Malaysia and doing a good job of it. He should be made an example to be followed by other Malaysians. Good chap!
