River Cam Drained!!
this isn't something that you see everyday... the river cam was pretty much drained!!! the water flow was blocked from jesus lock for a few days... hence, the water level had dropped by several feet... the poor punt companies were out of business for a few days...
as you can see, both the punt companies decided to park all their punts in the middle of the river.. i guess this was done to avoid damaging the punts... however, there were many punts left "beached" all along the river... thankfully, our college punts have already been moved into winter storage...
i sort of remember reading somewhere that the river was blocked for a few days for some sort of construction purpose... and since there was a guy missing from cambridge for a week or so, the police decided to take the opportunity to search for his body with the water level down...
UPDATE: According to CEN, a body was found at jesus lock today.. So, I guess some good came out of draining the river afterall... and it puts and end to the mysterious disappearance of Daniel Bolger..
