Interesting day today

just got home... took a shower... the weather is abolutely horrendous... it's dark, gloomy, and rainy... wet and cold weather isn't particularly good for health..

i got an email today, from my master's secretary.. inviting some of us over for drinks on sunday... the only email that she couldn't find was mine... should i be worried?? i was missing from the list of college grad students and now the master's secretary can't find my email?? however, the college is still billing me... so, at least that department knows that i'm still alive... i guess i should go... afterall, how often do you get invited over by the college master for some drinks... i just hope that they do not serve tooo much alcohol... well, it's in the middle of the day, so, i guess it's unlikely to be too alcohol fueled... the master probably wants to get to know us a little better... and he seems like a fairly nice person...

also, bought myself "System" by neal stephenson... got it cheap from galloway and porters... it's the third book of the baroque cycle... i totally loved cryptonomicon, diamond age, and snow crash that i own... and according to reviews, the baroque cycle is absolutely superb... i'm looking forward to reading it.. however, i'll need to read the first two books of the cycle first... which i do not possess at present... no problem, i've added it to my amazon wishlist... just in case, i'll keep checking galloway and porter from time to time... they're my absolute favourite bookstore in cambridge... i'd initially gone out shopping for a book for a friend... bag of bones by stephen king... absolute marvel... and ended up finding this gem instead!! woo hoo!! happy happy!! (i'm so easily satisfied)..

then, picked up my new university card from the tutorial office... and i noticed something uncanny... the turnover rate at the tutorial office seems awfully high.. everytime i go there, someone else sits at the desks there.. anyway, for some reason, when i first started out... they gave me a student id that expires in january 2007... that was pretty silly of them... however, now i've gotten one that expires in 2010.. although i'm unlikely to still be around at the time, i can pretend to be a student until i'm 30!!! woo hoo!! student discounts, here i come!!! haha!! cheaper everythings!! woo hoo!!

and yes, my ski trip is confirmed... so, i'll be going skiing in january... i must remember to bring the bandages along.. just in case anyone gets hurt while on the slopes... and every friend i know has been telling me to be extra careful on the slopes... and to ensure that i do not go too fast... else, i will get easily injured... i guess i should learn how to fall gracefully as soon as possible...

finally, i've decided that a change of diet is in order.. instead of having a "healthy" breakfast like i do these days, i'm going to cut it down to just a glass of milk... follow this with a light lunch like i'm having normally, and it should be just nice...
