Worrying Trend

There seems to be a worrying development in Malaysia. In order to confuse real Malaysian issues, UMNO seems to be trying to divert the attention of the Malay populace. In trying to secure more Muslim votes, it is going to extreme measures to show that it is more concerned with Muslim issues than PAS.

According to a recent article in TheStar, UMNO Youth have come out to criticise Anwar, PKR leader. The article quotes KJ as saying: "Anwar is a puppet of the United States and the Jews, thus he must be hounded until there is no more place for him to run to." This is a worrying development. For some reason, UMNO is accusing the Americans and Jews of meddling around in our local politics.

Then, you can watch a 1 year old video below, to see KJ again, at the centre of a crowd of people, protesting the injustices on the Lebanese and Palestinians wrought by the United States and Israel. The video shows him calling on them to stop atrocities on the these people. This was held during the height of the Lebanon War last year.

The worrying trend is that KJ likes to involve the Americans and Jews in various ways. This makes me wonder whether there is any truth in what he says. Maybe the Americans and Jews are meddling around in our politics but I wouldn't know anything about that. Moreover, I doubt that they need to meddle around much since our politics is already muddled up enough without any external pressure.

Personally, I think that UMNO is just trying to draw attention away from our real problems by spreading FUD. Spread enough FUD around and people will let you step all over them. That's the political tactic, most recently employed by the Americans and Israel. It's interesting how UMNO is using the very tactic expounded by the very people they are complaining about.

I'm just worried about where this is all going.
