Zahrin, Elizabeth and I

Today's weather was quite sucky. However, I met up with a friend of mine from Malaysia, today. He is over in London on some work related stuff and decided to pop over to visit Cambridge. He brought along a friend, Elizabeth as well. So, I was tour guide of the day for two people.

Zahrin and I were house mates for two years back in university. He and Liz are both currently working for Shell in Miri. So, I went to pick them up at the train station this morning. Then, they wanted to take a look at the engineering department so I brought them there. Needless to say, neither one of them were impressed. Zahrin and I are from the same university while Liz is from UTM.

Then, we went to visit King's Chapel. They were really impressed by the architecture and stuff. Liz was quite surprised to see that this chapel is grander than most churches in the world. Zahrin just kept snapping away with his camera. He has a D50 with a nice 18-200mm 3.5-5.6 VR lens. Since they had a camera with them, I didn't bother taking pictures for them then.

After that, we went for lunch at Gardi's. We had some fish and chips and then we left to visit Trinity and Johns. Then, we went to Magdalene and I took them punting. Even though it was a little rainy, we went out anyway as they wanted to try punting and they were only here for the day. The punt was really wet and I slipped and fell twice [No, not into the river - Me]. I banged my knee a bit but it wasn't so bad.

After that, it was almost dinner time. They also wanted to see my room to see what kind of accommodations I lived in. Then, we went to Wetherspoon's for a pub dinner. After dinner, it was already 8.30pm and we walked back to the train station. After seeing them off, I cycled back home.

It was nice to see one of my former house mates after all these years. I managed to find out from him that my former 0.12 tonne roommate only weighs 80kg now! Also, I found out that another one of my former house mates is now married. Very interesting. I really would like to get in touch with my former roomie, Dhana again. It seems that he's a secondary school teacher in Miri now. Cool!
