Chamonix Day #4

Today was the first day that I had trouble with my boots. I had changed them the evening before and the new boots were killing me. I could hardly even stand straight without pain shooting up my spine. So, I could hardly do much on the skis. Every time that I tried to turn, my feet would scream at me. Even the simple task of taking the button lift up the green slope caused me so much pain that I had to take a couple of minutes break whenever I reached the top of the slope. However, I did try my best to persevere but I gave up at about 3pm and called in an early day.

I was plesently surprised when I got back to the hostel. Not only did they provide us with a picnic lunch and buffet breakfast and dinner, they had also provided us with some interesting stuff for tea. Typically, they'd serve hot tea accompanied by some sweet carbohydrates. We had to cook our own waffles on this day. On other days, they provided us with cakes and such. They also regularly gave everyone a sugar dose with some apple crumble and melted chocolate. The bar would also regularly sell the drink-of-the-day. As you can guess, all of us had probably put on some weight as a result of this ski holiday.
