An 8 year old's birthday party
Just came back from Shafi's son's birthday party. Jack commented that he had hijacked his son's birthday into his own party since the only ones present were daddy's friends and not his kid's friends. Well, that's just fairly normal isn't it! Anyway, his family is awesome. Just look at the picture and you can see why. You can just see that they are one happy family.
His kids were super. They both inherited their mother's good looks (thank goodness!). The daughter is extremely photogenic and I took a dozen pictures of her. I'll send all the pictures that I took to daddy later. I took some time to gimp a few of the pictures. All of us spent a lot of time playing with the kids (and their toys!). Both the kids speak good English and Pashtun. We were even joking that we should get his 4 year old daughter to teach Sven some English! I'm sure that the kids had a lot of fun playing with the bunch of childish adults as well.
Oh, the cooking was superb. I told Shafi that I've got to find an Indian wife! I've not eaten dhal, briyani, phrata, tandoori, and lots of other good Indian food in a long time. I've always loved Indian food. My mum used to say that I must've been an Indian in my previous life and that I would need to find an Indian wife one day. I told her that I'll certainly need to find a wife that can make some nice Indian food. Good dhal at the very least! My ex learnt how to make dhal from my family. Yes, we know how to make some dhal, even me!
Daddy got both his kids a bunch of presents. So, we got a chance to play with them too! Hahahaha! His daughter let me play with her new sketchpad toy. I drew a lion and and we just plopped our fingerprints on the sketchpad for some colour! His son beat most of the so-called adults there at darts. We suck. And daddy was busy playing with the remote control car he got his son. And of course, I documented it all in pictures. One very happy family. I wish them all the best for the rest of their lives.
PS. If you're wondering why there are two birthday cakes, I'm sure that any parent of two beautiful kids can tell you why. Else, get some of your own and find out for yourself!
