Thankless "Job"
i'm quite fed up of running the cufps server... it's a totally thankless job... no one appreciates how much effort it takes to configure and run the server... and every damn person wants the server to be configured to suit their taste.. and with 25 members in the group, it's not easy to suit everyone's taste..
so, i took the decision to do it my way... i'll set it up the way that i like the server to be set up... it's either play as it is, or play something/somewhere else... it's not a democracy... it's a game server that i'm administering... in netiquette, the admin is god.. and you dun mess with god...
some call it "constructive criticism"... well... (1) it's certainly not constructive for me to go fiddle around with server settings whenever anyone whines... (2) there's no point for me to take criticism from people who do not even know what it's like to run a server...
i dun mind if someone else takes the time to go fiddle around with the settings and sends me the config file to use... now, that will be positive action... but nobody is interested in doing it... all they know how to do is whine... which is negative action... so, i dun see why i should take it anymore... i'm not their mother...
i dun think i'm gonna bother anymore... since i'm not getting anything out of this anyway, i'm not gonna bother anymore... since nobody appreciates any of the effort anyway, i think that i'll just remove myself from the group and let gordon/daniel do it... i should focus on my phd anyway...
i might run for a 3rd term as my MCR server administrator if they cannot find someone else to replace me... at least, the MCR appreciates the job that i'm doing... i'm starting to see a pattern here... i can't seem to work with the undergrads very well... hmmm... i wonder why?? is it the difference in mentality?? is it the age gap??
