just caught some interesting news regarding the royal palace... they're going to, actually, purchase 100 large screen samsung televisions for the 775 rooms in the palace... a fairly interesting if not very useful piece of news... i wonder who, in the royal palace, made the decision...

if the deal stays in place for 5 years, samsung will be able to use the "by royal appointment" seal, on their brand, in the future... i'm quite sure that samsung will send a small army, probably headed by their country manager, to oversee the purchase, installation, and deployment of this contract...

i wonder if the royal family knows that samsung is currently under investigation for price-fixing... goodness knows that samsung needs the deal after their shares plummeted on news of the investigation..

maybe the palace should wait a little, to let free market forces determine the price of lcd screens, before making such a large purchase... who knows, the price might just fall...
