Prince Harry to go to Iraq??!!

This is probably one of today's breaking stories. Prince Harry is scheduled to go to Iraq next year. And according to the article, he has asked to be treated "as normally as possible" i.e. he doesn't want to be protected and kept out of combat.

Hmm, I wonder what would happen in the UK if he gets injured in Iraq. With the current anarcy going on there, and the rising number of allied casualties, it is highly probable that he can get hurt. That is unless he is specifically kept out of harms way by his superiors. Even then, harm may come to look for him. I wonder if any of the enemy fighters might take this opportunity to do maximum publicity damage by hurting him.

I guess, none of his commanders will want to personally be responsible for sending him into a combat zone (if he ends up getting hurt badly). However, the decision may not be entirely up to them. Circumstances may dictate that he be sent into combat. He might even take it up onto himself to go into combat just to prove himself. I wonder what would the British public do if he actually got himself killed (touch wood).

It must suck to be the 3rd in line to the throne. As long as nothing untoward happens to Prince William, he will never be anything otherwise. So, this might be his chance for him to make something of himself to undo his damaged reputation suffered during his crazy teenage years.

I hope that they send him in with sufficient armour and supplies. I wonder if they'll be sending Prince William there next. That would be an even bigger piece of news.
