Today is another nice day
actually, yesterday and today were both nice days... sinusoidal... up-down-up-down... currently up... so, down should be just around the corner...
yesterday, i tried to do some work... did manage to read an interesting paper about "hot potato" routing... and then, went out to watch "the prestige"... ooooh... that movie is GOOD!! although, it's not the kind of movie you can watch too many times... once the plot twist is revealed, everything else loses it's mystique...
today, read more interesting papers on chip networking and routing... so, i have sort of got an idea of how/what needs to be implemented in my chip... really, i'm starting to fall behind on schedule... the way i laid out my schedule, i still have the chance to make up for the lost work... however, if i miss my next target, then, i'm in trouble..
oh, and i just got home from watching swan lake... it's my very first ballet.. i have to say that i'm seriously impressed... i like it a little more than opera... it was very good... (except the lame ending).. i think i'll go watch another one next term... maybe romeo/juliet...
and i think that for the next few months... i should just lock myself away and work on my chip... i should do what i usually do during holidays... buy food from sains... cook, eat and work... that way, i wouldn't even need to leave my room/house very often... i find stepping out of my room quite distracting.. i should just beaver away over the next few weeks... and see how much results i can collect...
i doubt that the new tools are going to be setup before next yr... so, i should get all my simulation results as quickly as possible... and then, possibly, get some FPGA implementation results... then, next term, i can get my ASIC implementation results... and then, easter should be a backup term, to fix any bugs and repeat the results collection... then hopefully, by summer, the damn thing will actually be implemented in an FPGA and tested for real... then, i can write up in michaelmas 2007... woot!!
oh, and next week, i'm bringing the kaetsu girls around cambridge again!! this time around, i have a camera... so, i should be able to get a few nice pictures with some "totemo kawaii" kids... i think that i'll do a slightly different tour this time around... i know what is it that they'd like specifically... start the tour by exiting newhall through the back... and taking them through the back gates of johns, trinity and then through kings... and then to town, and tatties for lunch... after that, i'll bring them up through grafton and then back to newhall... they should be dead tired (and loaded up on stuff) after that...
